I was expecting my monthly menstruation third or last week of September... I was waiting for it but I was kinda nervous already when October came and still it didnt came. I had a regular cycle every month but this time it missed. I told myself that maybe my cycle is just different this time. But it occurred to me that maybe I am pregnant. The last week of September, I craved for Carbonara (which I thought was one of my cravings before I had my period). When brushing my teeth I have the urge to vomit (which was the same when I was pregnant with Meinhard). And last October 2, I felt dizzy the whole day. And finally, I decided to know if we will be having a new treasure to the family. I bought a pregnancy test without my Honey's knowledge....
First thing in the morning, I made the test and it clearly showed two red lines.... It was a positive... I am really pregnant to my second child.... When my honey woke up, I showed him the result and of course, he was very happy about it. Our Meinhard is four years old already and we believe that he is ready now to become a big brother. We shared to him the good news also. At first, he cannot grasp what we are saying... He was asking us, "where is the baby?", "is it a boy or a girl?"... we explained to him slowly that the little baby is still growing inside mommy's tummy... and another question popped out, "how will the baby grow in your tummy mommy?"... and we just answered him that mommy needs to eat and rest and he needs Kuya Meinhard's hugs and kisses... Slowly Meinhard will understand as my tummy grows that we will be now be four in the family....

My first prenatal checkup.... Just like my first pregnancy, I still chose Dra. Lilibeth Manguerra to be my ob-gyne. I am very comfortable with her and she really is a very good doctor. When I came to her, she said that she just remember me the other day and told me that maybe I am pregnant already. And she was right... I had been visiting her for a couple of times because of my mother in law... But this time, it is for my second pregnancy. She did my very first ultrasound for a confirmation... Based from my first date of last menstrual period I was 6 weeks pregnant. My due date will be on the last week of May 2007: maybe May 29 to 31, 2007. She gave me my folate vitamins. My next visit will be on November 11, 2006.
Meinhard asked my doctor "how will the baby grow?"... she answered that the baby will grow slowly in mommy's tummy....

How your baby's growing: The cells that will make up all of your baby's body parts and systems are dividing furiously as her body begins to take shape. Right now she's about the size of a small lentil bean (4 to 5 millimeters across). If you could see through your uterine wall, you'd find an overlarge head and dark spots where her eyes and nostrils are beginning to take shape. Shallow pits on the sides of her head mark her developing ears, and her arms and legs appear as protruding buds. Her hands and feet look like paddles, with thick webbing between the developing digits, but her fingers and toes will soon become more distinct. Below the opening that will later be your baby's mouth, there are small folds where her neck and lower jaw will eventually develop. (Inside, her tongue and vocal cords are just beginning to form.)
Your baby's heart (which is starting to divide into the right and left chambers) is beating about 100 to 130 beats per minute — almost twice as fast as yours — and blood is beginning to circulate through her body. Her intestines are developing and tiny breathing passages are beginning to appear where her lungs will be. She's also starting to build muscle fibers and, halfway through this week, she'll likely start moving her tiny limbs. Unfortunately, you'll probably have to wait until you're several weeks into your second trimester before you get to enjoy feeling your baby's calisthenics.
Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of your baby's development.
